Palazzetto da Lezze was built in the 15th century in Sestiere di Cannaregio at the behest of Giovanni da Lezze di Andrea, Procurator of San Marco di Ultra (1554-1625). Part of the building, especially for what concerns the Casin (warehouse), is attributed to the famed Venetian architect Baldassarre Longhena (1596-1682). The palazzo – distinguished by a Gothic style – was a significant spot in Venice until 1812 thanks to its artefacts by Italian artists, from Tintoretto to Tiziano to Veronese and Lazzarini. Famous for its single lancet windows and the three-mullioned windows, Palazzetto da Lezze is crowned by a rich decoration of bas-reliefs referring to philosophy and alchemy.
